Film inspiration

Enys Men & Dear Marianne - Mark Jenkin

Vertigo Sea - John Akomfrah. I saw this at Talbot Rice Gallery in Edinburgh many years ago but managed to find a recording and found it useful seeing how other artists navigated multiple screens successfully and in an immersive way.

Palimpsest - Billy Gerard Frank, time hopping ‘period’ artist’s film about ottobah Cugoano.

La Jetee - Chris Marker, use of stills, narration and a loop back to the beginning at the end of the film.

Literature

The House on the Strand - Daphne du Maurier. Hallucinogenic drugs make people imagine they are living in the past with dangerous consequences - not an inspiration as such but aspects of the film reminded me of this book whilst I was editing.
